Arizona Auto Glass Company explains how to know if your windshield needs to be repaired or replaced

So you have a damage to your car windshield… how do you know when your auto glass needs to be repaired or replaced? Jason Mariner, President of Clear Cut Glass, a Peoria-based auto, home and commercial glass repair and replacement company, explains how to know if it’s time to replace or simply repair.
- ASAP – Regardless if the damaged auto glass needs to be repaired or replaced, the National Glass Association (NGA) suggests motorists have a glass professional assess the damage as soon as possible.
- Repair the Auto Glass– a good rule-of-thumb is that if the small glass damage (commonly referred to as a “chip”) is not in the driver’s line of sight, the damage can be repaired, as long as it is smaller than a silver dollar.
- Replace the Auto Glass – typically if the vehicle glass damage is larger than a silver dollar and in the driver’s line of sight, it is recommended that the windshield be replaced.
Clear Cut Glass provides both auto glass repair and replacement throughout Arizona. We are happy to contact your insurance to identify your windshield coverage.
